Vic: Gillard says govt working towards an inclusive society

Acting Prime Minister JULIA GILLARD says the federal government will do everything
it can to draw those at the margins back into society.

Addressing the Australian Council of Social Services national conference .. Ms GILLARD's
acknowledged the organisation's work towards social inclusion.

She says the past decade under the coalition .. has been a tough time for those working
in the social sector .. and as a result there was poverty alongside plenty.

Ms GILLARD says social exclusion is entrenched in society .. but the government is
determined to do whatever it can to improve the lot of those at the bottom of society.
