Ath: Russia wins gold in women's shot put
Olympia, Greece DPA - Irina Korzhanenko of Russia on Wednesday won Olympic gold in
the women's shot put at the Athens Games.
Korzhanenko handily won the competition staged in ancient Olympia with a put of 21.05
metres, but even her worst attempt of 20.04m would have given her the gold.
Yumileidi Cumba of Cuba won the silver with 19.59m and Nadine
Kleinert of Germany took the bronze with 19.55m.
