Qld: Security guard shot in robbery
BRISBANE, Dec 16 AAP - A security guard was shot in the hand in a robbery on the GoldCoast today.
A spokesman for the Queensland Ambulance Service said the man was admitted to the TweedHeads Hospital with pellet wounds to his hand after the hold-up at the Currumbin RSL Club.
Police said a vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery, which happened at2.45pm (AEST), was found in a nearby street.
Witnesses said the two armed men involved in a hold-up at the club were wearing balaclavasand were believed to have taken a weapon from the security guard.
