FED:Labor backflips on student income support
CANBERRA, Feb 21 AAP - The federal government is making a strategic retreat on controversial
changes to student income support for country students in an attempt to avoid defeat on
the the floor of parliament's lower house.
The move heads off a possible constitutional crisis over a coalition-backed private
bill to make youth allowance more widely available to regional students.
