JAILHOUSE LAWYER HOPES TO FINALLY WIN HIS CASE.(CAPITAL REGION)

Jerry Rosenberg is sure if the two murder victims in the botched robbery in Brooklyn almost 35 years ago had not been police officers, he would have been a free man more than a decade ago.

The state's longest-tenured inmate and most renowned jailhouse lawyer hopes a state Supreme Court justice agrees with him -- that he cannot be denied parole primarily, if not solely, because he is a convicted cop killer.

Central to the case brought by Rosenberg is whether a higher value can, at least in terms of granting parole, be placed on a police officer than other members of society.
